Castle Tower Karlovy Vary

The Castle Tower is located in the historical centre of Karlovy Vary above the Castle Colonnade.

The original building, a Gothic castle, originated from the period around the year 1358 and was built on the order of the Czech king and founder of Karlsbad (Karlovy Vary) Charles IV. But during the devastating fire in 1604 the castle was burnt down and its revival never happened. Reconstruction in the Baroque style was enjoyed only by the tower, which was used to welcome distinguished guests to the spa.
