Dalovice
This little community is situated next to Karlovy Vary’s district called BohaticeDalovice can be reached by public transportation bus No. 17 leaving from the center of Karlovy Vary, or by train departing from both Upper and Lower Railroad Station, or by city link buses leaving Karlovy Vary in the direction of Ostrov (terminal stop No. 7, or bus stop at the Market place).
Dalovice can also be reached on bike. Just follow the cycle path leading alongside the stream of the Ohře River that will take you to Dalovice’s square.

Sedlec
Going to Sedlec from the center of Karlovy Vary, you have to travel through a city district called Rybáře. You can take public transportation bus No. 14 or go on foot or ride a bike.

Doubí
To get to Doubí take public transportation bus No. 6 leaving from the center of Karlovy Vary. If you go by car or bicycle, set out in the direction of Plzeň. Visit the Doubí chateau and remember to stop in its restaurant Nostalgie and dancing hall. The chateau premises pride on a newly reconstructed chapel from the 14th century

Hůrky observatory
The observatory lies on the outskirts of Karlovy Vary in a town called Hůrky. You can reach it by public transportation bus no. 8 or by bike. Besides observing the night sky, the observatory organizes lectures, astrological clubs, camps with an astrological theme, etc. The observatory is open from January until December. Angel Mountain
Engelsburg castle ruins (14th century) are located southeast of Karlovy Vary. After climbing the hill towards the torso of the castle you will be rewarded with a breathtaking view of the Karlovy Vary region landscape.
Situated southeast of Karlovy Vary, this castle built above a little town is a place of pilgrimage. The Engelsburg castle was founded in the 14th century. In the 17th century it underwent reconstruction but was destroyed by a fire in 1718. Today we can see only its remains. Angel Mountain can be accessed by car, on bike (in the direction of Prague) or on foot (following the tourist marks passing by Goethe’s outlook tower and a golf course)..

Svatošské rocks
These rocks were proclaimed a national landscape monument in 1933. They are found in the valley embracing the Ohře River between Karlovy Vary and Loket. A group of huge granite rocks creates remarkable formations such as a petrified wedding suite, a mining gallery of the Venetians (a grotto) and the ancient settlement of Starý Loket (the primeval settlement on the rock promontory towering above the Ohře River and originated in the middle stone age).
The natural trail between Loket and Karlovy Vary’s district Doubí that is 10 km long provides 12 halt places featuring information on geology, archeology, history and botany. The route has gained popularity with cyclists and hikers.
The Svatošske Rocks can be accessed from Loket (by bus or train) or from Karlovy Vary’s district Doubí (public transportation bus No. 6). The nature trail can be rode on bike, walked by foot, or conquered by ship going down the Ohře River.
10 - 20 km
Kyselka
This community lies in the basin surrounding the Ohře River at the edge of the Doupovske Mountains. Curative mineral springs have been known here since the middle ages. Mineral water was decanted here under the commercial names Buková kyselka and Kysibelka. In the year 1873, the mineral water began to be dispatched under the brand name Mattoni’s (acidulous) water inspired by the company’s founder Jindřich Mattoni. The mineral water has been drawn and processed here ever since.
Kyselka can be reached by a city link bus, car or bike.

Loket nad Ohří
This little town was founded in the 13th century. Its dominant is a gothic castle. In 1979, Loket was proclaimed an urban conservation area. It was the Loket castle from where Charles IV set out for hunts. As legend tells us, his hunting suite found the first hot spring in Karlovy Vary.

Ostrov
Ostrov lies on the route between Karlovy Vary and Jáchymov, at the foothill of the Krušne Mountains. Ostrov abounds in a number of historical monuments built in the spirit of Romanesque, Gothic, and Renaissance styles. The new town district is a typical example of socialist realism. Connection with Karlovy Vary is secured by trains and buses..

Bečov nad Teplou
Bečov was founded in the 13th century. Its castle was established at about the same time. The chateau section of the castle was built in the 18th century. One of its sightseeing tours includes a unique shrine of St. Moor. Connection with Karlovy Vary is secured by trains and buses.

Klášterec nad Ohří
This town lies northeast of Karlovy Vary. It can be reached by bus or train. The town was founded in the 14th century. Bohemian King Přemysl Otakar II included it in the property of the House of the Šumburk who later incorporated Klášterec with the estate of the Pernštejns.

Mariánské Lázně
The second largest spa in the Czech Republic. Like Karlovy Vary, it also takes pride in mineral springs. This city forms one of the vertexes of the so-called „Spa Triangle“ that also includes Františkovy Lázně and Karlovy Vary. This spa city is mainly sought after by patients suffering from the disorders of kidneys, urinary tract, digestive tract and motor system, respiratory tract, skin, etc.

This spa town was established in honor of Emperor Franz Joseph at the end of the 18th century. However, its „Miraculous springs“ had been used for therapeutic purposes several centuries before that. Františkovy Lázně is renowned for the treatment of women’s concerns and infertility. It is the third apex of the „Spa Triangle“.

Cheb
