Angel Mountain

This pilgrimage site, the ruins of the castle above the town, is located southeast of Karlovy Vary. The Engelsburg Castle was founded in the late 14th century. The castle was renovated in the 17th century and in 1718 it was destroyed by fire. What remains of it today is only a ruin. After climbing to the torso of the castle you will have a wonderful view of the Karlovy Vary landscape.

If you travel in the direction of Prague, the Angel (Andělská) Mountain can be reached by a car, bicycle, or on foot, by following the tourist signs leading to the Goethe Observation Tower and the golf court.
