Angel Mountain

This pilgrimage site, the ruins of the castle above the town, is located southeast of Karlovy Vary. The Engelsburg Castle was founded in the late 14^th century. The castle was renovated in the 17^th century and in 1718 it was destroyed by fire. What remains of it today is only a ruin. After climbing to the torso of the castle you will have a wonderful view of the Karlovy Vary landscape.

If you travel in the direction of Prague, the Angel (Andělská) Mountain can be reached by a car, bicycle, or on foot, by following the tourist signs leading to the Goethe Observation Tower and the golf court.
