Are you planning to come to the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival? We offer you this guide to the film festival to help you plan your stay during the KVIFF.

Films and showings

  • Information on films selected for the festival programme has been published continually since March. All films will be introduced on the website www.kviff.com by mid-June, along with a complete catalogue and programme
  • You can put together your own film selection already before you leave for the festival, with the help of the option „Můj program“, (My programme) which you can use in the pre-sale and box offices, and also to figure out how to make it all
  • The Festival offers its visitors several options for acquiring film tickets
  • The Festival visitors decide on the Audience Award by voting after every showing by the exit from the projection room
  • The films presented at the festival are provided with English and Czech subtitles. When this is not the case in exceptional cases, such films are marked in the programme brochure and programme poster
  • Possible programme changes, added or cancelled showings will be announced to the public on an ongoing basis through the festival TV channel, newspaper, box offices, information panels (by the main box office and press centre), on the website and social networks
  • The project of Cinema without barriers has been taking place as part of the KVIFF for several years. The purpose of the project is to make the visit to the festival more pleasant and easy to the handicapped people by providing them with assistance and information services
  • The Festival also offers a selection of films with subtitles for people with hearing challenges

Festival locations and visitors services

  • The centre of the festival is located in Hotel Thermal where the accreditation hall, most of the box offices, projection halls, information, accommodation agencies’ stalls and organizers’ offices are located

Here the teachers from the local Mothers’ Centre will take care of the children. As in the last year, the children will also be able to enjoy playful training and competitions within the “Look around!” project besides other activities. The interactive training including visual presentations of proper behaviour in traffic will take place from 29 June through 2 July 2013 from 9.30 am till 7 pm

The Official Festival Bicycle for the third time at the KVIFF

Besides its official festival car, the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival also has its official bicycle serving mostly the visitors from among the public, just as in the previous years.
For the third time, the Specialized brand is the “Official bicycle” of the 48th year of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. The company Specialized will provide the municipal 'Expedition' bikes to the festival’s visitors to speed up their movement between individual projection halls as part of this unique cooperation. These bikes will be available at 3 stations: Hotel Thermal, Hotel Pupp and tent camp. Visitors can rent the bikes every day during the festival’s duration from 8.00 am to 11.00 pm at all stations mentioned.
