The Christmas holidays are knocking on the door again after one year. Come to Karlovy Vary and take a break from the pre-Christmas rush, for example at the Christmas fairs or concerts, or by reminding yourself of the classical Old Czech Christmas in the Christmas Museum. Everybody may choose from the rich pre-Christmas cultural offer. Spend Christmas in one of the most beautiful spa towns in Europe.

Here is an overview of the cultural events in Karlovy Vary in the Advent time:

Christmas markets at the T. G. Masaryka avenue and by the main post office will take place from 29 November 2013 to 22 December 2013, always from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. You may look forward to a rich accompanying cultural programme, workshops for children, music and theatre performances, and much more. The Christmas fairs are dominated by a ten meter Christmas blue spruce. The Christmas fairs offer a rich assortment of Christmas sweets, traditional and not-so-traditional gift items. The Angels’ Christmas Workshops for children will be open on each Advent Sunday. And you will not also miss the Angels’ Post Office. Karlovy Vary will join the nation-wide event “The Czech Republic sings carols” on Wednesday, 11 December.

Christmas House
You may come and enjoy the Christmas atmosphere in the Christmas House in Doubí chateau in Karlovy Vary. The charming Christmas town, decorated houses, imposing little churches, an ice-rink, and a set with rollicking children and adults having fun will enchant not only children. The small town is also crossed by a working railroad with an engine and a set of cars running along merrily. You can visit the Christmas Museum in the Christmas House. The Christmas Museum is located in a unique 650 years old cellar where you can experience the old-time atmosphere of the traditional Czech Christmas.
The Christmas House in Karlovy Vary is open round the year, daily from 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Municipal Library of Karlovy Vary
The library has organized the 8^th year of the “Letters to Baby Jesus” competition. You can submit your letters, pictures, photos and manufactured products at any branch of the Municipal Library of Karlovy Vary by 20 December.

Art Gallery Karlovy Vary
15 December, Sunday, Christmas in the times of our grandmothers – Studio dell´arte
until 31 December, 60 years of the Art Gallery Karlovy Vary. The Art Gallery of Karlovy Vary - Galerie umění Karlovy Vary, is the oldest and largest museum of art in the Karlovy Vary Region, and it hosted over 600 exhibitions and welcomed over two million visitors. This year it will celebrate the sixtieth anniversary of its existence.

Farmers markets will take place on Friday, 13 December, from 11 a.m. in front of the Municipal Market Hall in Karlovy Vary. Regional products will be sold here.
