2014 Spa Season Opening in Karlovy Vary

The Spa Season Opening in Karlovy Vary is just round the corner. Karlovy Vary is really busy preparing for the new spa season. The first weekend of May (this time extended, i.e. 30 April – 4 May 2014) will be dedicated to the celebration of the Spa Season Opening in Karlovy Vary, as has become the custom. The grandiose celebration of the coming of spring and of a new Karlovy Vary spa season will be unusually long this year in comparison with the previous years, the town will be celebrating for five days.

The spring celebration will take over the whole town of Karlovy Vary. The Spa Season Opening events will take place in the spa colonnades, spa parks, forests and concert halls. The programme will offer social and cultural events, concerts, exhibitions and interesting meetings. Besides the traditional programme in the form of the Spa Springs Dedication and a historical parade through the town, headed by the Czech King Charles IV, there will be many other new events to look forward to as well, among others e.g.: “Walking Vary” – an organized walk through the spa forests, the audio-visual projection “Vernum” – an audio-visual video-mapping on the walls of the Karlovy Vary Theatre building, with the Karlovy Vary water as its topic, a swing concert of Frank Sinatra at St. Linhart – performed by the “Karlovarský repreband Milana Krajíce”, and you can also participate in creating live pictures in front of hotel Thermal.
Porcelain markets in front of Grandhotel Pupp, Food Festival in front of hotel Thermal and many other events will be part of the spa season opening celebration.
