Deer Leap Lookout

Looking from a different perspective, you can see Karlovy Vary from the Jelení skok (Deer Leap) Lookout. You can get there with the funicular from the Grandhotel Pupp. You can get off at the Deer Leap station in the middle, or you can ride all the way up to the Diana Tower and walk down about 500 m. You will pass by the Myslivna sanatorium around the “U Myslivny” chalet, and walk all the way to the Deer Leap restaurant. From there it is only a few steps to the Deer Leap Lookout. Don’t be fooled by the same name of these three places, you will be in the right place only when you reach the Deer Leap bower.

Another interesting feature is the statue of a mountain goat standing on a rock and overlooking the town. You can see the statue from the trail under the lookout. Mountain goat belongs to Karlovy Vary as much as thermal mineral water, spa wafers and Becherovka. To leave the mountain goat you can walk down the stairs and take the path towards the right, back to the Grandhotel Pupp. The path is marked; there are direction signs and orientation maps.
